Rebuild probably isn't the term I should've used...
but the previous coach (Chris Riley) burned out from coaching and left for a non-coaching job. He had a losing record in his final season. Wilson honored all Riley's incoming commitments (which might have been mistake #1?). Whit wanted to improve the program. He thought Wilson was qualified but it became obvious today that she didn't think she could get it done. Others on this board have mentioned during the past year that she might be the first Whit Babcock hire to be fired. Maybe she saw the writing on the wall? Maybe the Tech volleyball job isn't an easy task? The previous coach probably felt he hit the ceiling with Tech VB and couldn't do any better. His heart wasn't into coaching anymore. Wilson just didn't work out and she at least resigned so someone else can take a stab at improving the program. Hopefully, Whit hires someone with head coaching experience.
